Ubud The Spirit Of Bali

Ubud, uma cidade mágica no interior de Bali. Ubud é uma pequena cidade cheia de charme que me cativou logo de imediato. Um lugar super inspirador para comer, amar, orar, partilhar e apreciar... A paisagem, aquele horizonte verde envolvente das plantações deixa qualquer pessoa deslumbrada. Definitivamente Ubud respira natureza. As pessoas são incríveis, muito prestáveis, disponíveis, desde as motas à nossa espera para o hotel, os deliciosos sumos quando chegávamos, o arrumar o quarto a toda a hora e o mais importante o sorriso de gratidão com que nos recebiam.

O hotel é o Pajar House, uma casa de família, eles próprios disseram que ao ficarmos naquela casa passaríamos a ser família. E assim foi... Que família tão hospitaleira. O Pajar House foi sem dúvida um dos melhores sítios em que fiquei hospedada, generosidade e simpatia são pilares assentes naquela casa. Esta família mostrou-me o que há de melhor em Ubud.

Um passeio inesquecível em Ubud é a Sagrada Floresta dos Macacos. Aqui os primatas são considerados animais sagrados que reinam livremente. Cuidado com malas e telemóveis, toda a gente está sujeita a ser roubado por um macaquinho.  Aconselho a levarem bananas, eles vão adorar. 

Embora a Indonésia seja um país de maioria muçulmana, Bali é uma ilha hindu e a religião deles está presente em tudo, no charme dos templos, nas oferendas colocadas em cada esquina, nas manifestações culturais e na hospitalidade do seu povo. Os templos são lugares mágicos, que se podem encontrar em cada esquina. Os espectáculos de Danças Balinesas também podem ser encontrados em vários pontos da cidade, normalmente em pequenos templos. As danças são na verdade uma mistura de dança e teatro, um espectáculo bonito e envolvente que aconselho a assistirem.

O Pura Ulun Danu, Templo do Lago, é um dos must see em Bali. O Templo fica a 1200m acima do mar em um dos picos mais altos de Bali, rodeado pelo lago Bratan. O templo parece que está a flutuar na água, a sua arquitectura é impressionante e acolhe milhares de turistas todos os anos. A vista é realmente deslumbrante e vale a pena toda aquela viagem de carro pelas estradas de Bali (estradas pequenas, muitas curvas e trânsito).

As cascatas são outro must see de Bali. Sekumpul Waterfalls foi a cascata escolhida. Demorou um pouco até chegarmos às famosas e imponentes cascatas e uma chuva torrencial à mistura só poderia tornar todo aquele momento um momento mágico, quero chamar-lhe assim. O banho com água gelada claro que tinha de acontecer, no inicio confesso que estava um pouco relutante mas no final de contas não poderia desperdiçar aquele momento mágico e inspirador com aquela acolhedora paisagem verde.

A ilha de Bali é completamente dominada pelos arrozais. As plantações de arroz criam um panorama indiscutivelmente lindo, sendo quase como obras de arte. Aconselho a visitarem um dos arrozais mais bonitos o de Tegalalang, que fica a cerca de 15 minutos de Ubud.

Ubud vais ser uma experiência a repetir definitivamente, não sei quando mas sei que um dia irei voltar. O contacto com a natureza, aquele povo generoso e hospitaleiro é o que me faz querer ir novamente. E desta vez com mais tempo... muita calma para contemplar e absorver todas aquelas energias... onde toda a gente é feliz, sem preocupações. O que realmente importa é sermos felizes com o que temos, e aquela gente consegue fazer isso na perfeição. 

Miles and Smiles Away 

Ubud, a magic city in Bali. Ubud is a small town, it´s unique and full of charm, I fell in love straight away. A perfect place to eat, pray, love, share and enjoy ... the views are green from the plantations, making this place a beautiful postcard. Ubud definitely breathes nature. The people are incredible, very helpful and always making sure everything was in place for us, from the motorbike waiting for us to drive to the hotel, the delicious juices on our arrival, the room clean at all times and most important the smile on their faces, a smile of gratitude and happiness.

The hotel is the Pajar House, the owners are all family, they said that staying with them we will be part of the family, and so it was ... What a generous family, Pajar House was one of the best places I have stayed, that family conquered me! They showed me the best of Ubud. 

One of the places to visit in Ubud is the Sacred Monkey Forest. Here you can find hundreds of monkeys, running free  and looking for your bags and cell phones, so don't forget to take bananas with you, they will be very pleased. 

Although Indonesia is a Muslim- majority country, Bali is a HinduIisland and the religion is present in everything, in the charm of the temples, the offerings in every corner, in the cultural manifestations and the way they receive the tourists. The temples are very attractive places that can be found everywhere. The Balinese dances are unique and beautiful and is closely connected to religious rituals.  Dances are normally performed at small temples. These dances can be seen all over Indonesia, but specially Ubud, so if you are travelling to Ubud it's a must see.

The Pura Ulun Danu is one of the most famous Balinese Hindu temples, it also commonly called as Bali temple on the lake or Bali Temple on the water because it looks like floating on the water when the water level is rising.  The architecture is impressive and it receives thousands of tourists every year. the view is breathtaking and worth all driving by the small Bali roads. 

The waterfalls are another must see of Bali. Sekumpul Waterfalls, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Bali. It took a while until we reach the famous waterfall. It was raining a lot, the water was cold but it was a magic moment. Of course I had to swim, at the begin I was reluctant but then I couldn't wast that magic and inspiring moment, surrounding for the cozy green landscape.  

The island of Bali is completely dominated by the rice fields. The rice paddies are so beautiful and all the panorama it's a perfect postcard. Tegalalang is one of the most beautiful rice fields, it's 15 minutes away from Ubud. You will not regret trust me! 

Ubud will be an experience to repeat definitively, I don't know when but what I know is one one day I will go back... The contact with nature, with the generous people and the way they receive tourists is what makes me want to go back. And this time with plenty of time ... to appreciate and retain all those energies and good vibes ... where everybody is happy, without concerns. What really matters is to be happy with what we have, and those people can do it perfectly.
